A Woman Who Employs Post-it Notes

Myrna is pleased somebody invented Post-it notes.

She likes the speed with which a paper square

Can be peeled from its family.

She especially likes those in assorted colors,

Which she affixes on her refrigerator door,

Removing them when they no longer serve her mind’s needs.

Today Myrna peeled off “Affirmations are good!”

Because she has decided otherwise –

If affirmations are good, are negations bad?

All depends on how we look at it: that is her key belief.

When Myrna posted the first inspiring Post-it note

On her refrigerator door she thought posting

Was something “good” in itself.  It sounded helpful and cute;

She liked its childlike quality.

Posting has assisted for five or six years.

But less so, now.

Instead, she tries to limit their number

So she can see expanses of her Frigidaire’s white door.
