Submissions
As per January 2024, Expanded Field is on hiatus. We hope to be back in the air before September 2024.

We accept unsolicited submissions throughout the year. Please submit only one piece in one category at a time, or up to three poems. If text-based, submissions must be in English. However, please note that we encourage English translations of previously published work as well as experiments that may fall outside of “correct” English grammar.
In your submission, please stipulate the category for which you’d like your piece to be considered:
Fiction
Non-Fiction
Poetry
Comics
Experiments
FORMATTING GUIDELINES
For text-based work, please use Times New Roman 12 point font and double-spacing, unless spatial layout is integral to your text’s communicative or aesthetic intent. Please submit these works as .doc or .docx files.
For image/text works, please use a high-resolution scan of 300 PPI. Please submit these works as .jpg files.
We recommend that submissions in the Non-Fiction and Fiction categories do not exceed 4,000 words.
REVIEW PROCESS & RESPONSE
The editorial team, together with the faculty advisor, blind-reviews all submissions. The submissions are then accepted, rejected, or marked “revise and resubmit.” If your submission falls in the latter category, you are welcome to resubmit your revised work for future consideration.
Our average response time is three months. If you have not heard back by that time, please send us an email and we’ll get back to you.
Please note that once your work has been accepted, we will not accept any more major edits to the text. If there are any additional revisions you want to make, they must be kept to a few words at most.
